Sri Vijayaganapathi devalayam is located about five kilometers from the famous Sri Varaha Narasimhaswamy temple (down hill) in Simhachalam on the Simhachalam -Sontyam- Vizianagaram road in the EK Marg of SSVDA Lay out. It is about 10kms from Visakhapatnam Airport and 15 Kms from the Visakhapatnam Railway station.
The temple was inaugurated on 25th March 2000. The Deity in the temple - Sri Vijayaganapathi is 3 feet in height made of black single stone of famous Peddapuram Hills in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.
The temple celebrates several pujas and festivals with reverence throughout the year. Sri Vinayaka Chavithi festival will be performed on a large scale for about 21 days with Annadanam to the devotees and poor people on the last day of the festival. Several Yagams like the Sri Vijaya Ganapathi Sahitha Satachandi yagam was performed for the universal peace in this temple apart from Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Homams frequently.
The temple has a publication trust to print several books. It published several books so far - They are “Sri Ganapathi Pradhana Slokamulu", "Sri Ganesh Stotramulu", "Shodasa Ganapathi Dynamulu" and "Sri Narayana Kavacham" from the great poet Pothana Bhagavatam etc. It also publishes a monthly magazine " Sri Vigneshwara Bakthi Sumalu". The Magazine was inaugurated by H H Sri Vidya Nrusimha Bharathi Shankaracharya of Pushpagiri Peetam during the month of May 2006. As the cost of publication has gone up leaps and bounds, we are in touch with our devotees through email- srivijayaganapathidevalayam@gmail.com. Through this mail we are sending many informative articles with the Title – “OUR HERITAGE” in English and “MANA SAMPADA” in Telugu. These will be sent to all the Devotees who contact us to the above email address.
This blog is mainly intended to made known of temple activities to the general public through powerful media of internet. I have constructed the temple in a humble way to serve the Lord Sri Vijayaganapathi. The devotees to the lord may please give their suggestions and feedback so as to develop the temple and the blog. Articles of interest may be sent to us so as to publish the same in this blog. The articles section in the blog will be updated at frequent intervals.
